Cybersecurity Awareness Month is coming to a close. However, videos of each weekly presentation are available within the website pages for the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer. ​​​

​During the recent KAMP Conference in October, staff of the Division of Geographic Information ​not only presented, but also received an individual and a group program award.

​​​​Thursday, October 24, state employees ​have an opportunity to hear from Julius Gamble with the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. His presentation is on "reducing the risk of attack on cyber and physical infrastructure for state government."​​

​On Thursday, October 17, state employees can register for the presentation by Patterson Cake who will discuss the "Major Threat Actors for Government Agencies." ​​

​​On October 10, state employees have an opportunity to participate in ​​a presentation by Bridget Bean. The presentation will discuss the best practices for increasing communication and collaboration regarding cybersecurity between government agencies.​

​​​During October, the Commonwealth Office of Technology ​will offer several ways for state employees to engage in a variety of cybersecurity events.

On October 3, state employees are encouraged to sign up to hear from John Wagnon, Fortinet, on the "Secrets of a Successful Cybersecurity Defense."​

​The Commonwealth Office of Technology is hiring for a systems consultant IT position. Submit an application prior to October 4.

Rates for COT services have been updated and are effective July 1, 2024 until June 30, 2026. ​

COT offers technical guidance and information to assist your agency in complying with Meeting Protocols for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).  On-line meeting software is a platform of web-based intuitive products and COT has a few recommendations to help you select what will fit your conferencing needs.​​

The Commonwealth Office of Technology is launching Security Watch. Through Security Watch, state government staff can submit cybersecurity suggestions.  The email address for your input is COTSecurityWatch@ky.gov​. ​
