Introducing Commonwealth Password Reset
Commonwealth Password Reset can get you back in your locked Windows account quickly and easily without assistance from a Commonwealth Service Desk technician. The service is always available and can be accessed from modern browsers and mobile devices.
Our agency has setup Commonwealth Password Reset powered by Azure AD. Azure AD SSPR leverages a shared registrations experience with Azure/Office 365 multi-factor authentication (MFA). This will follow the same MFA process you are already familiar with.
With Commonwealth Password Reset, you can unlock your account without calling the Commonwealth Service Desk for assistance. You can also change or reset your Windows password any time you wish to do so – day or night.
Who can use Commonwealth Password Reset?
Any Commonwealth of Kentucky Executive Cabinet employee or user with access to executive cabinet resources. User must have two (2) alternative methods of authentication registered to be eligible to use Commonwealth Password Reset.
How do I use Commonwealth Password Portal?
Most employees will be able to unlock their account or reset their password directly from the Windows login prompt by following the reset password link. Alternatively, the user can navigate to the
Commonwealth Password Reset web portal via an Internet browser. The portal can be accessed from any modern browser or mobile device.
What is an alternative authentication method?
You must register for Commonwealth Password Reset account before attempting to use the service for the first time. You can’t wait until your account is locked before you decide to register. Registration is easy, and takes only a few minutes to register two (2) alternate authentication methods.
