Data Communication Services

The Kentucky Information Highway (KIH-3) is a statewide telecommunications and information network connecting over 1500 Executive Branch agencies, libraries and local government agencies. Furthermore, KIH-3 connects all 120 counties through a Wide Area Network (WAN) utilizing high-speed data circuits via an MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) network.

Agencies have several options in regards to circuit speeds when choosing how to connect their main offices or remote sites to the KIH-3 Network. This allows the agency to choose the most cost most effective connection speed that will meet the agency’s business needs.
