Effective, Efficient & Innovative Government Metrics

State Government agencies face continually diminishing budgets and must look beyond their own walls to see if needed information technology capabilities may already exist elsewhere or if desired purchases can be combined with other agencies to ensure the economies of scale that allow for discounted pricing.

Desktop/Laptop Operating Systems

Outdated technology increases security risks, support costs and limits functionality. The I.3 initiative is helping agencies that could not afford to upgrade their existing technology from older and even unsupported versions to move to current platforms. As time progresses and COT completes the acquisition of support for all executive branch desktop and laptop computers, the percentage on current enterprise standard platforms will increase.

Managed Print Services

While the Managed Print Services implementation is a Finance and Administration Cabinet sponsored initiative, it is technology-based and supports the goal of efficient, effective, and innovative government via a systematic review of existing agency print capabilities and the implementation of a more efficient placement of multifunction devices while still meeting the needs of the agency.
