Introducing Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is a collaboration platform designed to provide
a unified workspace for teams to work together. MS Teams is bundled into the
Office 365 suite so there is no additional costs to existing Office 365
subscribers. In addition to chat based
communications (similar to Skype), MS Teams integrates with other Microsoft
services and allows users to access shared files and calendars, allows for
collaborative editing of documents within a Team (using MS Word, MS Excel, MS
PowerPoint, etc.), and allows for easy switching between voice, video and text
chat.
Multiple chat rooms or channels can be created within a Team
and to help keep chats easy to follow, conversations are threaded, flow from
top to bottom and notify users of updates.
If users need face-to-face conversation, they can jump
straight into voice or video chats with other others with a single click.
