The Commonwealth Office of Technology upgraded the GotSource System Dec. 12-14, 2007 in order to improve supportability, security, scalability, reliability and improve response time. This change required the GotSource production system to be put into read-only mode starting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12. The GotSource production system remained in read-only mode during the upgrade process and beyond. The new upgraded system was available starting at 2:00 p.m. on December 14.
For those users who have the Client software on their PCs, your existing Client software will work fine with the upgraded system. No upgrade of the Client will be necessary.
Users with GotSource IDs and passwords will use these same credentials to access the upgraded system. Once the upgraded system is operational and stable we will begin migrating COT users to allow the use of Active Directory which will enable auto-login for GotSource. Once this migration is complete we will move to a strong password system for all registered GotSource Users.
The DocuShare upgrade team has developed an orientation PowerPoint that describes collection updates that will be made during this outage, as well as new features in the DocuShare software.
