The Desktop Support Branch provides support to the end users of desktop computers, laptops, workstations, and network printers, primarily in Frankfort. The staff utilizes various tools and the latest technology to minimize down time for the users. This branch provides client side support of hardware for both out of the box and agency developed applications. Other duties of the Desktop Support Branch are: moves, adds, and changes (MAC), account creation, password resets, VPN account creation and password resets. The Desktop Support Branch also participates in new PC and application deployment.

Network Field Services Branch

Network Field Services is an electronic communications support group which maintains the following networks;

  • KEWS, Public Safety Radio
  • KIH, Kentucky Digital Data Services

Network Field Services is comprised of three district offices, BowlingGreen, Frankfort and London. The staff maintain 24x7x365 response to critical services which include but are not limited to: Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Emergency Management, Department of Military Affairs, Fish and Wildlife, Kentucky Educational Television, Motor Vehicle Enforcement and National Weather Service.

Kentucky Emergency Warning System (KEWS) is a carrier-based radio system comprised of analog and digital modulations schemes meeting statewide needs for telephony, 2-way, data, and video RF Transmission.

Kentucky Information Highway is a digital data network serving customers with e-mail, internet, firewall, video teleconference and specialized customer applications.
